 Period Corsets® had the pleasure of collaborating with A.R.T.,  American Repertory Theatre, on their recent production of Marie Antoinette

A.R.T.'s latest piece, co-produced with Yale Repertory Theatre, delves into the pastel colored world of Marie Antoinette. With their fantastical costumes, wigs, and set design, the production brings to life the young queen and her world of lavish indulgences.

Of course, no representation of Marie Antoinette would be complete without the proper silhouette given to her shape by the correct under garments. Period Corsets®  created several full panniers and a special custom, extra wide pannier for an extreme dramatic effect.

Marie Antoinette by playwright David Adjmi was part of American Repertory Theatre's 2012 Fall  Season. Since then the play went Off-Broadway but Marie's wardrobe was left behind as a memory of her collegiate days.

Exciting Announcement

Dear Friends of Period Corsets,

We are pleased to announce, as of August 1st, 2012, Hilary Specht Coffey is the new owner of Period Corsets. After 17 years in business, Susan Davis and Becky Kaufman are excited to be passing the torch to Hilary. For the past 12 years, Hilary has been an integral part of the company's leadership and growth.

Period Corsets began in 1997 with two corset styles, and since then has created 36 different products, and innumerable custom garments.   With the business at an all-time high and our desire to invest our time in other ventures, Period Corsets® is ripe to continue thriving with Hilary at the helm; we look forward to seeing what new places Hilary takes the business.

While Hilary will be taking ownership of the company, the current staff will remain the same and Becky and Susan will continue to consult with Period Corsets®.  We are excited that Period Corsets’ tradition of providing quality workmanship, innovation and superior customer service will continue into the future.
